About Us
Sage Legal Group is built on the belief that effective advocacy requires more than just legal knowledge — it requires compassion, understanding, and a holistic perspective. We help clients not just “get through” legal disputes, but navigate them with strength, dignity, and long-term clarity.
Erin M. Pitcher, Esq. is the founder of Sage Legal Group, LLC, a woman-owned, trauma-informed law firm serving families across New Mexico. A native New Mexican, Erin brings more than a decade of extensive courtroom and trial experience to every case, with a career that spans prosecution, complex civil litigation, and family law.
Erin began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Albuquerque, where she successfully prosecuted some of Albuquerque’s most notorious high-profile felony gang members, drug traffickers and violent felony property offenders. She likewise led programs like Mental Health Court and the Domestic Violence Repeat Offenders Program, and developed deep expertise in domestic violence cases and high-risk prosecutions- teaching prosecutors around the State during her tenure at the DAs office about preventative detention strategies and prosecution tactics. She later transitioned into civil practice, representing national insurers and corporations in multimillion-dollar cases involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and insurance defense. Over the years Ms. Pitcher has successfully tried countless jury and bench trials, both in the criminal and civil courts around New Mexico. This breadth of experience sharpened her litigation strategy and negotiation skills, which she now brings to every family and civil matter she handles.
Today, Erin focuses on high-conflict custody, divorce, guardianship, domestic violence, and select criminal and civil litigation. Her holistic and trauma-informed approach helps clients navigate the overwhelming realities of the legal system with clarity, dignity, and fierce advocacy. With both professional experience and personal insight as a stepmother, mother, and co-parent of a child with disabilities, Erin brings uncommon compassion and practical understanding to families facing unique challenges.
Beyond the courtroom, Erin is a published author, award-winning attorney, and long-time advocate for children, families, and individuals with disabilities. She is admitted to practice in all New Mexico State Courts, the New Mexico Federal District Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and she remains active in local and state bar associations.
Outside of her practice, Erin enjoys life in the East Mountains with her partner, David, their blended family, and their lively “zoo” of animals. She tends to an ever-growing collection of plants, experiments with sourdough in the kitchen, and soaks up the outdoors. Music is also a central part of her life — she performs vocals with her local classic rock band, FretNought, alongside her father on lead guitar.
